I suppose it was just a matter of time. I mean, Twinkies are good, deep fried Twinkies are great. Oreos are good, deep fried Oreos are perhaps the best thing that has ever happened in the history of solid food. Pickles, mushrooms, cheese, cheesecakes, all delicious foods that can be made better by deep frying them. Then they started doing weird stuff, butter, and Coke. I should have known this was coming, especially after the coke. Sigh, you’ve guessed it by now, but deep fried beer has arrived. From the sounds of it, the concoction is a ravioli shaped pocket of dough that it filled with Guinness (why?), and dropped in the fryer. Now, don’t get me wrong, I love fried food, and you know I love beer, but I am having a hard time wrapping my head around this one. Maybe if they actually put a good beer in it…. nope, still wouldn’t sound appetizing. Given the opportunity, if this showed up in front of me, I would try it. And hopefully I would be pleasantly surprised. But until then, I am filing this under “two great tastes that do not taste great together.”
